Bristol Sheffield V3

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

Help! I'm a newbie to RS and am having no luck installing this route. Am running RS with the upgrade on XP SP2 and when I launch RouteSetup.exe as per instructions it opens a new window "RouteSetup Version 1.0.15" with "Install Assets" as the only option. Click on "Install assets" and less than a second later it tells me that "Your Package has been installed" and exits when I click "OK". No sign of the route in the Content/Routes folder or when I launch RS.

I'm no doubt missing something blindingly obvious but any help would be appreciated!

just tried to install it on my computer with the same result! and i'm its daddy.

Should read 'install route'

The way to overcome this is to use winzip if you have it and 'extract to here' that will put it in the same place as the zipped file, then click on the routesetup.exe that should give you 'install route'. there are no assets with this route so thats why it 'loads' in 1milli sec.

dont forget you will need the xtra files listed under the download too.
keep trying

Thanks Jet - worked a treat! Now I can relive my days in the early 60's on the college embankment at Tamworth with about 100 other kids! Keep up the good work and I look forward to the next "installment"!

you and me, spent every moment when not at school in the paddock behind the Low Level Station, the cries of 'clanger' or 'main still ring in my ears 50 years on.

Did you 'find' a set of buffers under the high level bridge on the 'main' ?

the fix does not work, it removes the piece of track altogether, groan..

If you insted of clicking on play if you click on 'edit' then when the scenario opens,
go to the top left flyout and click on the piece of track, then wait while the Black 5 appears and dissappers,

then fly to the buffer, back to the top left flyout,

click on the track and then underneath 3rd row down 5th across is what looks like a clock at 3 oclock, thats the 'weld tool' click on it and a 'grey cube' will appear on top of the buffer, its under the bridge, dont touch any of the cubes above the bridge..

just click on it and the buffer will go. then click on the arrow head bottom right and on with the game...
