Deleting Scenarios (Upgrade Mk1)

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

Deleting Scenarios (Upgrade Mk1)

Post by Shadders »

Hi All,

First: Mods, if you feel that I should have posted this on the patch thread, please move this post.

I've been happily pressing the delete key in RS to remove my own and third party scenarios. However, when running the package manager and selecting uninstall, I found a load of entries pertaining to scenarios I had already deleted.

What does pressing delete in RS actually do? Does it just remove the scenario from the list or does it completely remove the scenario?

If I'm authoring a scenario and want to delete it, is it safe to assume that the entire scenario is removed when I press delete?

If I want to remove a third party scenario, should I always use the package manager (assuming that was what was used to install it)?

Any clarification would be gratefully appreciated,

Shadders.

I have used the delete button method to remove a scenario from the main screen. However if you try to load up the same scenario (or revised scenario using the same name)it fails to load using the packager.

I think this is because although it removes the scenario, it does not remove the uninstall info in the PackageUninstallinfo folder. Manually removing the uninstall file found in this folder will allow reloading of the same scenario.

I presume the packager checks this folder to see if the scenario exists.

Sorry to steal your thread, but it is related to your question.

Ill get my coat.
