IVATT! SUPERB!

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

Dose this loco have sounds or it it back to the old using sounds from a default loco can you alise or copy sounds from another loco in railsim or do you have to have your own.

Sounds are aliased to the Black 5. It seems quite a tall order to do a steam soundset.

Thanks again for the comments.

Sounds are aliased, as is the cab.

The loco is from this site, uktrainsim.

I've had a chance to look at this in a little more depth, including testing the physics, which seem refreshingly different from both included steam locomotives (from a standing start with 12 mkI cars next to the black 5, the black 5 slowly overtook it and the Ivatt never caught up; with the 7F in the same scenario, the 7F pulled quickly away from it at first, but the Ivatt caught up with it after a while), I really rather like it. The model is excellent, and it's most impressive to see such detail in the motion in a freeware model released so early in the lifecycle of the main product.

One small suggestion would be to make all the textures slightly darker: they are noticeably lighter than those of the default locomotives, and look slightly off. Other than that, an excellent addition to the Rail Simulator fleet. Now all that we need is for the main product to be fixed enough to get proper use out of this and your other lovely looking locomotive that I'm queuing to download at the moment...

Thanks for the comments,

I cannot take any credit for the physics and this is down to the good work of Richard and Simon.

Colour has to be a personal thing. I textured the loco to what looked right to me, on my setup.
