Re: Diesel and Eletric
Of course, it doesn't have to be RSDL developing it: there are third party developers, too

I think rather than "desert" RS they were simply put off by the prospect of having to produce routes and stock which are up to the current standard...adam3544 wrote:Unfortunately, the major third party contributor Blue Sky Interactive "dezerted" and left the wagon prematurelly.
With locos and rolling stock, yes, but routes need to be started from scratch for each sim so it's not really worth it. The only route I can think of that has been produced for more than one sim by the same company is the West Somerset Railway published by Just Trains.overmarze wrote:Yup why not make paywere for all rail sims surely theres a finanatial gain????
I back the call for a WCML route though, would be happy to see this as a commercial addon from RSDL

You know, sometimes a good product gains some bad reputation for known or unknown reasons, but this become a hold for commercial developers.
In this case, the hyp about the under development MSTS 2 could be a killer for commercial add -ons designed for KRS.
Bad fortune ? Maybe.

Re: Diesel and Eletric
I think one of the problems is finding people with the right skills. I know I've struggled to find people for DT. I still don't have a sound specialist. That leaves me facing the prospect of buying in sounds, or training someone to do sounds, which means taking somebody off another job. The trouble is, these are specialist skills, and those with them rarely, if ever, apply to an unknown company, like DT, to work with them. It's catch 22. To get them, you have to be known, to be known, you have to get them. Such is the trouble with the ever-increasing demand for quality and fidelity...
