Up the Lickey Incline, a Sunday indulgance

Just wanted a break from 10 hours a day creating the Bristol to Derby route, so in a moment of Sunday madness jumped ahead of myself to see how RS loco's faired up the famous 1 in 38 for 2 and a bit miles from Bromsgrove to Blackwell, well here is the Black 5 with 3 on and maintained 25mph all the way. Very pleasing... (still getting stuck putting the named markers on the list) not as easy as the manual makes out...)

Isn't that the type of ramp they used to launch rockets from?

Believe me and I have fired many a steam engine up there, that that is what it looks like from the bottom! Just been modifing the surrounding landscape, its easy to create the 1 in 38 and also to then fill the embankment in but getting a smooth transition between the 'levels is slow and painful, unless there is a smooth transition too I have yet to discover.. :

You can ease the transition to grade..
Use the track gradient tool and put in multiple changes to grade about 50 m apart... there is a good video on the RS website showing just how to do it
Have fun

wiil try that sly, so much to get your head round first time you miss so much info. I have redone Castle Bromwich on the B'ham - Derby (same as the Lickey) now that I know about platform placement, and the signaling is redone a little as i get my head round the sig info just out,

This route has really been too easy to create, it packs ok and the first 15 miles are just about complete, if it packs, will it unpack? Sort of click to pack...is that all, seems too easy, I fear blowing everyones RS up

Well, the only problem I know about packaing routes is if they contain 3rd party content, but this should be fixed soon.
