Hi, I am currently running KRS on a Sony VGN-FZ11Z which runs all the routes and scenarios very well at reasonable settings. I have however noticed that on some of the longer routes especially the York-Newcastle that towards the end of the run the Horn and the AWS sounds tend not to sound their full length. I am wondering if some resources were not being released during the simulation thus having less memory for some of the auxillary sounds.
I am running the simulation in Window mode with Vista 32 Home Premium with 2 gig of Memory. (The main engine sounds are not effected by the way) .
Could this be a quirk of my machine/Vista/KRS or has anybody else experienced this ?

Re: Memory leak ?
There is a specific known bug whereby certain sounds, especially the horn, only sound a short blast in certain, seemingly random, circumstances: it can occur shortly after one has started the game as much as a long time into it, and the only way to correct the problem is to restart Rail Simulator.

Re: Memory leak ?
I don't think this is a memory leak as such.. it is more likeley a question of resources. however I do think there is a memory leak when subject to a crash to desktop... Yeah I know I like to break things to see how they work
If your game/ scenario crashes to desktop in the dev tools/ editor mode it can take an absolute age to restart.. checking the memory usage the page file goes thro the roof.. it is far quicker to reinstall the dev tools and then restart the game.. this ends the routines that are obviously still trying to configure themselves.
Not posted about it before because dev tools is own risk stuff... and besides I didn't think you guys was as rough as me lol
