I have tried night time scenarios on my own route and the S&D but the lighting seems to be ...well...not dark, just more like a stormy day, signals are not lit either. I have seen screenshots on this forum which are dark.
Any clues?

Re: Night time
Ok....
Tried the sunglasses....everything is dark and I can't see the keyboard....and my wife thought I looked like Stevie Wonder.
I had turned down the brightness before the original post, but everything during the day then seems much to dark...locos to dark to see the detail etc.
I know how to change the time, thanks anyway but I did notice on the screen shots you linked too, they were of the Paddington - Oxford route I wonder if the S&D is behaving differently as it is much lighter than those shots. I'll have to see if I get the same effect on that route.
Has anyone got lit signals at night on the S&D?

Re: Night time
With regard to signal lights, I've reported on http://www.railsimulator.com/node/337. I also wrote, elsewhere:
John
Just as well it is not too dark as you need to see the signal arm silhouettes. The non-illumination of the semaphore arm spectacles seems to be a problem with the texture. The signal lamp is permanently on (white), so the intention must have been to have coloured semi-transparent spectacle lenses and not the solid bright colours as at present. I only discovered this whilst examining the various signal shapes in the editor and found that two of the wooden shunt signals have their semaphore arm partly buried in the ground, thus exposing the signal lamp in all its glory at the top of the post.

Re: Night time
Thanks for the info on signals, lets hope they can be fixed.
In order to gain a satisfactory night time appearance I have to drop the brightness control down but this gives a much too dark effect to the locos during the day, look at the platform brickwork and compare it to the loco in this shot, the loco should be in the same light as the platform

Not to worry I'll just have to drop the brightness for nightime opps and lift it for daytime!
