Re: What was the last train you went on??
Yesterday.
A poky 2 car Class 156 on the 12.57 Norwich to Sheffield, should normally run to Liverpool Lime St, but, due to snow and engineering works terminated in Sheffield.
The train was virtually empty, very dirty inside and out, and the heating was on full blast, of course, and only 1 ticket inspection between Norwich and Nottingham. We did arrive in Nottingham to time, but, only after at least 3 signal stops between Grantham and Nottingham, don't know why, there was nothing in front of us......
Very poor service standard by East Midlands Trains, must do better.....

Re: What was the last train you went on??
Serious overcrowding. I had a seat on the train going up, but watched people standing around the doors between Bristol Parkway and Birmingham New Street, I had the displeasure of sitting on my backpack on the returning journey. Silly XC for putting 5 car trains on services going across the country (especially the Aberdeen-Penzance service). I wrote an email of complaint to customer services telling them its a bad idea to put 4-5 car voyagers on such services. No idea what kind of reply I'm going to get.

I don't think they have much else do they?
These trips used to be an HST working but that's off the menu now. . . .
Actually, I have a dream. One day I am going to to do Aberdeen to Penzance in one go, first class. Hotel in Aberdeen one night, hotel Penzance the next.

Re: What was the last train you went on??
Good to see somethings haven't changed - I had to sit on my backpack on an old Virgin XC service from Bristol - Exeter back in 2000 on a HST before the Voyagers had been introduced.wertyuv wrote:Serious overcrowding. If you want silly for overcrowding; try pretty much any SWT service coming in to/out of Waterloo at Rush-hour. Not a lot they can do about it though without demolishing half the routes and starting again with improved pathing & longer trains.

Re: What was the last train you went on??
Hope the interview went well for you - that's going to be some commute on a daily basis though! Bracknell - Reading was bad enough for me
