Hi. martin. Yes, that's what they were using here. Four men with two trucks, one had the big tank of white stuff cooking away..
They have gone now. 8oo yards, two junctions and a roundabout, all relined in a flash. Thats a skill I can admire.
Ah well back to the sim. CU Eric

Why is it, whenever I manage to scrape a day off - "Aha!" thinks I, "A morning's lie-in" one or more neighbours have tree consultants arriving at 8:15am?

Or should this be a GOM post?

About 20,000 rangers fans sleeping off the defeat, a huge amount of rubbish, and the usual procession of units, 66's, 86's, 90's and the occasional 56 :)

2 helicopters flying stone from Kirkstone quarry to the top of Wansfell, for path repairs.

Unbelievably noisy!

The usual stream of learners, ranging in ability from first lesson to fairly adept. Im so tempted to give them scores as they practice their turns, reverse parking and reversing round corners outside my house :)

The usual stream of dogwalkers, mostly elderly female pensioners out for the walk too, but one chap goes by each morning on his bike, being pulled by his huge german shepherd with ease :)

My next door neighbour has been in and out with his truck half a dozen times already this morning :(

I can hear the sounds of police sirens behind the house on the A27, so there has either been an accident again, or they are running the speed traps at the end of the Dual carriageway section where the 70mph limit drops to 40mph.

Its dry and sunny and starting to get warm again, after the early morning rain. Im off out soon for some lunch :)

Ah the memories "Grab a Granny night" at the Nottingham Palais, round behind the bus station.

Just been informed by the neighbours that the van outside our house has been dumped...

What kind of inconsiderate person dumps a heap of rubbish like that outside someone's house?

Why not park it round the corner were it would cause such suspicion and nuisance????

I would mind so much, but the last time a van got dumped down our road some low-life set it alight.

It's full of carpets and broken electrical appliances...

Police have been called but it's taxed until 2009 so concil won't move it. :fist: :fist:

I'm seriously cheesed off.

OK - I understand you are justifiably annoyed but using **** in words is not allowed. I could go the whole hog with forum warnings etc. but I really don't want to go down that route so I just tidied your post up a bit instead.

Now some hopefully helpful advice. How do your neighbours "know" it has been dumped ? We have had cars apparently dumped in our road for weeks that suddenly move again. Now if the thing is taxed to 2009 then they could have cashed that back in for a refund so that seems a bit odd. The thing to ask the police is about the insurance - if a car is on the road uninsured they can seize and crush it. Same goes I think for MOT status - no certificate and they can tow it away and crush it.
Kindest regards

And since I am in here why not add a few words of my own ?

Out the back it is grey and nothing much going on. The tabby cat from next door is lying in my flower tub on top of my heather AGAIN  : - hey ! get your butt out of my garden ! :evil

Out the front is the usual chaos of parking. I am working at home this week so I have bagged the middle space in the road. My neighbours are apparently home since both cars are here. She must have the day off since he took her car to work at 04:00 this morning and got back about 10:00 which is way after she would have had to left.

Bronwyn's tabby cat is busy digging holes in next door's flower bed. I hope he isn't going to use it as a litter tray :( since that upsets them a bit.

The truancy officer's car is outside too so that means the loser kid across the road must have failed to materialise at school again even though I seen him taken there by car at 8:15 this morning. Probably just did registration and then skipped out. Boy is he in for trouble again ?

There appear to be some people going door to door in suits. Hopefully they are Mormons or some other religious types since we already switched gas and electricity and I fancy a doorstep philosophical debate with them so I can tell them why they are wrong and following the wrong religion. Can't do that when SWMBO is about since she won't let me wind them up and just slams the door on them. Might get a 45 minute break from work in when they press the bell  Just got to get rid of them before she comes home though.

I may be gone some time .....

Not much at all - though it is a glorious day here, so no doubt in an hour or so the road will be clogged with parents taking their children to the park just down from my house.

The sun came out briefly so I ventured out, but its turned cold, grey and misty now so im back at the PC, people watching from my window. Actually not much happening here either at the moment, still the occasional learner driver going by, but not as many as earlier. No body on foot at all now, its too early for the afternoon dog walk.

Time for a cheese roll (I had lunch at 11:30am before i went out and im peckish again now) and watch an old movie on TV, if I can find one. Otherwise ive got some TV recorded weeks ago to catch up on.

I'd get cheesed off about that.

I mean, did you invite these people in, so they could watch from your window? Or did they barge in and just start watching, uninvited? Can you see out of your window while they're standing there watching, using your window as a view-point?

Perhaps you should consult a lawyer about charging them the inverse of the old 'light tax'?

Absolutely bot all other than a few taxis about. In stark contrast to last night when after I'd got in it all kicked off.

Bout 20 minutes ago, my lovely dog woke the whole house up on a gloriously sick sunny sunday morning to tell us that our neighbour across the road is going to play a football match somewhere.
