My answer is the 'footer'.

Our TV programming these days seems to be 80% cooking related; I want to break the mould, but gently, so would a series about an accountant cooking the books be a good starter?

Maybe, but that would lead back to good old Court TV to see the outcome.

I'm Manx, I was born and brought up here, I don't work or live with anyone from Liverpool, I hardly ever visit the place. Why do some think I'm from Liverpool when I speak?

See my book 'Tax can be fun' for ideas

One often only has to go back though a few generations to find that perhaps your ancestors were not quite who you thought they were and by going back a few more generations (if you can) there might be even more surprises. For many people in fairly recent history (in the UK), living and working all your life in the same village was common but at times when it was necessary to find work elsewhere, and with easier travel (The Railways), people would travel long distances from home and settle in somewhere completely new. I know that some of my ancestors did just that, moving from Somerset to a variety of places in the UK and sometimes moving on again. In more recent years, the number of my relations in NZ has grown rapidly to what seem like thousands, many of whom are probably blissfully unaware that they are related to me :o

Liverpool is not far from IOM so perhaps you have stronger links with that city than you think :-?

What now seems likely though, is that everyone in the World is related to one woman who lived in central Africa. So in response to that interesting bit of information, all I can say is Hello cousins Phil and Barry :D (and everyone else too).

My question is .... Did Neanderthal Man just die out or was he pushed :-?

It was down to the line, one male, one woman, extinction beckoned.....unfortunately, the last Neanderthol woman suffered headaches.

I would like to ask our Manx friend: do shoe shops on the island sell shoes in triples?

No, and I'll tell you why.
It's a male thing, and length is the key. Foreigners seeing it had never seen such a length, the only explanation they could come up with was it had to be an extra leg. The sheep of the Island knew better though :D :D
I would've said the women of the Island but they had all be raped and taken back to Norway by those bleedin Vikings and their Spam.

Unfortunately evolution of 1000 years, kilts not keeping the sensitive parts warm in winter and inter breeding with the English has brought us in line with EU regulatory lengths. :(

Why do good things taste bad and bad things taste good?

How about what would happen if you tied a slice of bread, butter side upwards to the
back of a cat and threw it out of the window which was 8 feet from the ground.
Would it cause the cat to rotate as it would try to land on its paws whilst the bread
always lands with the buttered side downwards.

I'm okay with that, I always take the good with the bad, one cancels out the other.

If you could go back in time to the day before Julius Caesar is assassinated, what would you say to him?

"Look mate, listen real careful as I ain't kidding. You is in real danger and you had best stay in bed all day on the 15th March coz that is The Ides of March and it is not cool for Roman Emperors to go out on that day innit. Stay at home and watch some re-runs of Christians being fed to the lions, you won't regret it man"

Why did the Romans leave Britain. Was it just too cold for them :-?

Too many ringers. Cockney strikers, roman managers???? Can't understand each other.

Men are from Mars and women are from Venus. Why?

It a relatively recent idea....before we were just poles apart, but the rabid feminists wanted more distance between the sexes.

If you were on the moon and could survive a 'down trou', would you be earthing someone?

(Sorry - I have a curious curiosity.)

Depends if you were insulated or not.

Was Dunedin called Dunedin because the weather was pretty much the same as the original Dunedin?

According to Billy Connelly's comments during a recent stage tour through these shaky isles.

Does the weather forecast affect your mood?

Depends whether the weather is hot or whether the weather is not.

If Abraham Darby hadn't revolutionised the way we produced iron, where would the world be today?

In the Solar System, I imagine. :P But there would apparently be no steam engines if it wasn't for his coke fueled technique, according to wikipedia. :(

As I get older, time seems to go faster. Each year just flies by, September arrives and the Christmas adverts come on again. I'm 19 now and I can't imagine how fast time will feel when I'm 90 (if I live that long :o ). So, would decelerating the Earth's orbit make time feel like it's constant? :-?
