US Singer Donna Summer, famed for songs such as I feel love and Love to love you baby, has died of cancer aged 63.
LaDonna Andre Gaines (as she was first known) was born in Boston, and began her musical career in a Gospel choir. Later, she joined a German production of the musical Hair, before moving out to Germany. She made her music debut in a small way in 1971, but it was through the Italian synthesiser Giorgio Moroder, that her career took off. Apart from Love to love you baby in 1975, Summer's hits also included Last dance, Mc Arthur Park and Hot stuff to name just a few.
Many would describe her as the 'Queen of Disco'. Rightly so.
