Vidal Sassoon, the man who is credited with revolutionising haircuts in the 1960's, has died in Los Angeles, aged 84.

Sassoon, born in West London in 1928, is best known for the creation of the 'bob' hairstyle, and his short geometric cuts. He also had a successful brand of hair products bearing his name.

One of his clients Mary Quaint (who popularised the iconic mini-skirt), described Sassoon as, "the Chanel of hair."

Sympathy and RIP but, having lived through the '60s, I can honestly say he touched my life not one jot.
