Keyboard Unresponsive

Post by thetrainfan »

Hi
I am having to type with my on-screen keyboard.
I booted my computer up this evening to find that my Microsoft Internet PS\2 keyboard wasn't tying.
I have looked in the device troubleshooter and it gives me a code 10 "device can't start" description.
I didn't change anything last time I was on. The locks (num/caps/scroll) are unresponsive.
I have tried installing Microsoft Keyboard with no luck. All keys are unresponsive and numerous Google searches don't help.

I have tried another PS\2 keyboard but to no avail; the same thing happens.

I hope someone can help me, I can't use this PC without.

Have you got one of those PS/2 > USB converter plugs? Some keyboards come with one included.

On the otherhand, always keep a spare keyboard (and a mouse, too), because they always clap out at an hour when the shops are closed!

If I make sense 50% of the time, that's good; but if I make sense 100% of the time....you should seek professional help.
Or, Prove to me that you're a **certified**lunatic** and can prove it......otherwise, judge me not.

Bazza, I haven't got one of those plugs unfortunately.

Oldrocker, yes, many times - not working still.

I'm getting a new USB keyboard tonight hopefully - I'll report back!
