Ebay signing out?

Post by kieranhardy »

I've posted this on facebook but to get a wider response i have posted here too.

Has anyone recently bought something on ebay and had it sign out on you randomly? It occurred after i entered my paypal log in info and just before being transferred back to the confirmation page to pay. I refreshed, closed the browser etc but i was signed out completely.

Cheers,

Believe it or not, I tend to get logged out on this very forum.

Does it not like me or something?

Sorry, couldn't resist that. e-Bay (and, indeed, UKTrainSim and, of course, Facebook) are far from alone in this. Sometimes, it can be caused by a corrupted cookie, so clear out all the gubbins the browser dumps on your HD. I'm not an e-Bay user, so I don't know if it has a "remember me" checkbox at login; if it does, try clicking that, because sometimes the server at the other end seems to think you've logged out even if you've not done so; I may remember this being a packet problem, but don't quote me.

David

PS: I do like the idea of the Corrupted Cookie - as in "Don't go near the biscuit tin! There's corrupted cookies in there!"
