Hi all

I keep an occasional eye on the number of people online at UKTS and there has been a marked increase in the average number over the last year or so.

Disregarding the bots, there are often 150 - 160 at any time as compared with perhaps 100 or so a year ago.

There are predominantly more guests than members which indicates that there is much for the non-member to see here.

I expect Matt can come up with some statistics but it is encouraging and very satisfying that UKTS seems to be attracting more members and visitors, hopefully because of the high standard of moderation and the (too many to keep up with) interesting and informative threads to be found on a wide variety of subjects.

This is a great place to spend some time

I too have noticed the marked increase in the numbers online - currently 137 as I write this - but typically the majority are guests. I suppose that could mean registered members are looking before posting, as I often do myself.

It''s pleasing that there appears to be a resurgence in interest whether RW or MSTS, although based on the predominance of RW uploads it's probably the former. In terms of statistics I would be interested to know how many new members have signed up in the last few months.

It's certainly true that the current moderation seems to ensure that the standard of post/comment is high, and for that I am grateful and would applaud all of the moderators.

Thanks Alec for the positive comments about moderation.

If anyone is reading this, who usually stays offline, can I suggest that you stay online? It gives us who do look at the stats a better undersatnding of how many genuine guests we have, and how many users we have.

Quite agree about the amount of interesting threads to follow, and the standard of moderation - limiting the amount of nonsense to a reasonable level
Often amazed at how detailed some folks knowledge is.
Excellent service on buying from the site too.

Small point about 'guests' - I clear cookies from my system on a regular basis, and then don't always remember to login again when visiting the forums, so would appear amongst the guests. May be the same for some others I guess?

190 guests and members at this moment ... not seen that many for a very long time

193 at the moment, maybe Matt can give us an idea if the membership is better than it was.

213 (excluding bots) at the moment

Hi again. I'm here right now but often it looks like I'm not.
There may be a lot of members who, like me, view the forum on an almost daily basis without logging in. A lot of trainsim knowledge can be picked up just by lurking. If a post proves iresistable to ignore, I will log in and post. On shutting down, my PC is set to clear all cookies, tempory files and the history. Making each time I come on to the forum I'm a guest.
Now I must add my thanks to the Mods, our "unsung heros", who make this place so ameniable to all ages. I think the level of modding is just about right, Well done.
