I have to say that the BBC website got it spot on here in Wolves.

Light snow around 18.00 and a heavy snow shower around 21.00.

I came out of the pub at about 21.20 and it was bucketing down. Stopped about 20 minutes later and nothing since.

That's what I pay my licence fee for ! :P

p.s if you were to discuss poultry breeding on here, how would you ever describe the male form of a chicken?

You're lucky you managed to get to the pub in the first place, I took precautions by stocking up, so, I don't have to go out in the horrible weather, it can snow as much as it wants to between now and Monday, I've loads of drinks and plenty of fags, I'm sorted......I just hope we don't have a power cut, then no electricity, and no Railworks..... :(

Cheerz. Transport Steve.

I think the answer to your question is a Rooster...... :D

Well down here in sunny Herne Bay, Kent it is -9.5 according to my Car and my Boilers packed up and I'm freezing  Anyone got a Steam Heating Wagon they could drop down to us or an EE 6LDA connected to a 25kva Genny, Loads of Tea & Hob-Nobs as payment!!!! Might even get the Missis to rustle up a Bacon Butty or two.

Well that's annoying - it snowed heavily in the night, then rain came and washed it all away.

And it's going straight back to freezing after today to boot. I'm going to have fun at West Brom-Newcastle tommorrow afternoon.

No melt in sight in Darlington another cold day has kept the temperature at freezing level all day more cold weather is due next week as the winds come down from the North with more snow a possibility.

Good evening everyone
The thaw has started here in Withington Manchester
We have had rain this afternoon
However the overnight temperature is not looking good it is going to dip below freezing
I like countless others am terrified of coming a cropper on black ice or indeed ice full stop
Emma has missed out on her walks these last few days
Kind regards Stephen

We've had the fluidic precipitation today as well, most of the white stuff has turned to slush with temperatures now falling rapidly I can see me having to leave the house for work a little earlier tomorrow morning (about 6am) I just want my feet to warm up for a bit ;)

The point I was making wasn't the fact it had started raining ....nothing unusual about that
It is simply that rain falling on frozen ground ie roads and pavements makes for very dangerous conditions
There have already been fatalities due to this winter blast those involved have had their Christmas well and truly ruined
I managed to take Emma a walk this morning and dodge the icy stretches of pavement
Kind regards Stephen

A bright sunny morning here so the thaw has started. We too had rain yesterday afternoon which helped the snow on its way a bit, but still loads of white stuff to go before we are back to normal.
