Message from Wendy Dio
Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45am 16th May. Many, many friends and family were able to say their private good-byes before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this terrible loss. Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever.

- Wendy Dio

This really took me by surprise. I knew he had been diagnosed with stomach cancer back in December, but he was one of those musical icons you just couldn't imagine passing away.

RIP Dio, you will live on through your music. \m/

You beat me to it !

How sad, Black Sabbath did some great stuff with Ronnie plus the Holy Diver era.

Rock on Ronnie Ode Pal.

I'm going to be playing Black Sabbath music all day today as I lament the passing of such a rock GOD. To say he was 67 years old, he was always energetic in his live performances, such a sad time for British and American rock music in general.

RIP Ronnie.... :(
