Strange happenings in TSM 3D view

Post by ianmacmillan »

I have installed TSM on my dedicated MSTS computer running XP and having trouble with the display.

I've tried installing from the CD and downloaded the update.
I've also tried copying from the other computer and re-installing directx

The tank in the screenshot is a single solid part but you can see some polys are missing.
If I select another part the tank dissappears.

The model is complete. It converts and runs perfectly. and the other views are OK

The same thing happens with new models and old models made on the other computer

Anyone got any ideas what is wrong?

Sorry I can't help solve the problem, but, if its any consolation, you are not the only one to suffer from this.

Model as seen in TSM..

and as seen in SFV....

In my case this started to happen after I installed TSM on my new dual-core PC. As its a totally new machine I can't point to any particular feature that was changed which may help ascertain the cause.

Like you, I have tried re-installing TSM, updating and re-installing DirectX, but without success.

Become so frustrated I am now trying to learn 3DC.

Im beggining to think that this is an Nvidea thing.
What are your graphics cards.
When running an ATI card I had no problems.
Same PC with Nvidea card and have rendering problems.
I just built a new PC and have a 8800 GTX and this does the same thing but only worse.
.!!!

Same here.

ATI in the old computer and Nvidea in the new.
The new one is also duel core

Last night I tried changing most of the settings in the graphics card but no luck.

I'll just have to switch back to the old computer once it's up and running again after a corrupted boot sector forced me to wipe the hard disc.

I had the same problem too with an NVidia Graphics Card and went back to using an ATI Radeon, problem solved.

Funny though My laptop is a 2g core duo with an Nvidea 7600 and it works ok as I just ran a test.
It seems to be Desktop Pcs mainly that are affected.
I still think its the Nvidea card as a good friend interstate has exactly the same problem with TSM plus with the replies here.
Guess I will be doing more building on the laptop.
