Wrong way round by 90 degrees

Post by class43HS125 »

hi,
I seem to have hit a brick wall on getting my pride and joy to sit along the rails and not across them.

Using 3D Canvas and followed one of the basic tutorials about extruding a shape. Made the cross section shape as per the tutorial and then have to turn it 90 degrees on the vertical(3DC = Y) axis so that extruding it becomes the length of the body along the Z axis, Just like the tutorial. I have the model sitting centre on 0,0,0 with the models xyz gizmo thingy at ground level and facing along the z axis which is away from me up the screen. It makes no differance which 3DC export process I use. The end result is turned 90 degrees off, as though it is reverting to the original oriantation of the first made cross section. Suggestions please.

The good news is the model is all there, body, bogies and wheels. I was able to work through the RS how to doc substituting all my own values and file locations and succeeded in seeing it in the asset editor preview first time. Its True................. gets easier and the Docs make a LOT more sense after a few run throughs. Will be a while before I am bold enough to say I know what I am doing though ;-)

And then theres all that textureing stuff...............

Hi
I think you need to run the 'normalize groups' plug-in on the 3DC model before exporting.
