Pre-ordered mine

The Rail Simulator forum was very busy leading up to the UK release on October 12th 2007, this is a read-only copy of those discussions for historic and review purposes.

Well I've ordered from Amazon.co.uk with First Class delivery, they aim to dispatch on 3rd October and arrive on 4th/5th. Costs £27.98.

I'd like to preorder, but I'm going to university on the 5th/6th October and therefore I don't know whether I would get it in time :-?. Hopefully I can find it on the high street on the day :).

I cannot completely understand all the negativity towards the product before it's been released. The less we have seen the more of a (hopefully pleasant) surprise it will be.

I pre-ordered mine on the 4th. I am one of those people that will try anything once. If its good-brilliant. If its rubbish-so be it.

I personally think its going to be good, but its all about preferences. For me, as long as it looks good, plays well and getting extra bits won't be like trying to break into Fort Knox, i will be happy. :D

Like with most things, we shall see.

Cheers,
Terrone.

Pre ordered mine a couple of weeks ago, worth it for the S&D alone, the winter screenshots look stunning to me, can't wait to drive from Bath Green Park to Templecombe. Thank you Derek, Adam and the rest of the Kuju team for all your hard work. I have every confidence that the sim will be brilliant.

I sorta.. erm.. went a bit overboard, and I should get mine the day after it's dispatched before one pm, so I'll have mine pretty early! Quite a lot of money just for that though. £8 I think. Paid £34 off of amazon including postage for express delivery.

Blimey, I really don't think having it possibly a day earlier is worth 7 odd pound but each to their own ;). Is quite possible mine will arrive at the same time as yours! :P

Hi
I think if you wanted it on the day of release you should have gone to Play.com ........free postage too.
Amazon usually don't post until the day of official release.
They will satisfy their pre-orders in strict rotation, so hopefully they will have ordered enough copies.
Cheers

I've had bad experiences with play.com, they can either be really quick or painfully slow, Amazon consistently deliver on time though. Anyway, Amazon say they will dispatch on the 3rd unless they're lieing. :)

Funny that........I've found the opposite.
Pre-ordered GE from Amazon........day before release got an email to say sorry but they had only ordered 25 copies and I was the 26th customer........I finally got it 6 days after release.
I ordered ECML 2 from Play and got it a day before the official release day.

Cheers

The same way as they dispatched the harry potter books on the day before to ensure that people recieve them on the day of release.
