Liverpool - Manchester electrification

Does any one know what the IC plans are once this is completed? (assuming the spending cuts have no effect )

Will the current Manchester-Glasgow/Edinburgh then travel under netting all the way via Parkside Junction (East of Newton-le-Willows), Lowton Jn and Join the WCML at Golborne jn. Calling at Wigan NW instead of Bolton & Chorley?

I wonder also if there are any plans to re-instate the old Liverpool - Glasgow direct service, again under netting, via Newton-le Willows, and again joining the WCML at Golborne Jn?

No ideas of plans, but the Newton way would be best as between Newton and Earlestown is best for crossing onto the WCML. Plus if I remember there is some electrics between south of Earlestown then through to the triangle at Newton to join the WCML.

it is planned to replace the 185's with EMU's so yes im assuming the Manchester-Scotland jobs will go to the WCML near NLW then up. iirc 319's were mooted for the Liverpool-ManchesterP services.
