GWR Loco poll
I'm planning to write a GWR based activity for Msts and I'm not sure what loco to use. So I've set this poll up to help me decide.
I'll start it off by saying manor as my Faviorate Gwr Loco
If voting for option F could you please post the loco class your voting for to make it clear

Re: GWR Loco poll
You've left out the most common of all- 57XX Pannier tank!!!!!
Voted manors got a lot of practical experience with them- (probably over 5,000 miles!!!!)- steam well (post-BR mods), accelerate and dig in well with those little wheels, sound good and are aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Ideal for preserved lines in WR territory as they are big enough to look appealing to the punters, named, pretty, light axle loading, economical and powerful.
Oh and very easy to make clag with.....................
Only downsides- coal doesn't trim, so you have to pull it forwards- you have to shovel off the floor and going backwards its too drafty to keep your tea warm!!! But these apply to all GWR tender engines to a degree...........

Re: GWR Loco poll
Just curious but does it really matter what loco you use?
If someone doesn't like your chosen one they can always change it to suit their needs.
You also haven't said what sort of activity it will be... all well and good people choosing a Small Prairie or Pannier but if it's an express run those would be a bit useless, the same if they chose a King or Castle and it's a branch line or short goods activity!

Re: GWR Loco poll
I voted King, but I do like the Pannier tanks especially the larger ones with the outside cylinders, Also the one and only Pacific the GWR ever built The Great Bear ( I think that's what it was called.) but I don't think it's available for MSTS.
"Young boys in the park jumpers for goalposts, that's what football is all about."
Re: GWR Loco poll
It certainly was called "The Great Bear" No.111
