York Charter

Post by 96tommy »

Yesterday I saw what I think was a Class 40??? pulling ex-virgin coaches. This was at quarter to seven last nigh when I had just got off a train from Alnmouth. If you know what it was can you please leave a comment!!

Thank You

40145 on 'The Pennine Fellsman' tour from Holyhead-Durham. 47815 was also in the train.

Yes it was 40145 (there is only one mainline certified class 40), there was a mini tour available from York for 20 pounds adults / 10 U16s to Durham. It was meant to do the Harrogate loop but there was a problem with running around at York or something so it was changed to Durham annoyingly as I'd have liked to have done the Harrogate loop behind a 40.

Was on the rear for the outbound working and 'inside' for the return.
