That is not true actually.

Faster and more frequent trains will mean an increase in the heat in the tunnels. Regenerative braking will only work when there is a train nearby to receive the generated electricity, otherwise it will be dissipated as heat through rheostatic braking.

So apart from the heat issue, in terms of progression i've seen new power tracks down, on the third and fourth rail. A notice in service is that there's always a train that fails, more so than when i was growing up using the tube, which wasn't too long ago ;)

It looks like it will be soon, maybe end of the year
