They get charged less for lateness i think as well if the train doesn't reach its destination

I think this highlights the scam that is the modern timetables. They are designed entirely with the purpose of avoiding penalties for being late. I can only speak for routes that I have known for many years, but it seems to me that the principle applies across the entire network.

Most trains are given allowances in the timetable but sometimes with ATW I think this just goes out the window and the train gets terminated early.

That point is definitely true Glenn
I dont think a 48 minute delay because they dont know what stock to use is acceptable. I just felt sorry for the lady who was going to East Grinstead from Machynlleth who had her schedule blown out of the window. That was another personal experience by the way. It seems to have got better now by runnig into International.

Minffordd to Woking is bad when the train is late especially with 4 hours on the same train!!
