To answer points made earlier, the Gricer's Grill is definitely happening, provided from a kitchen car adjacent to the buffet coach 'G', between the Standard and First Class coaches (6 of them).

And then there is the 56. Or was the 56! As has been noted, Fastline are now unable to supply a Grid as they cannot even rely on enough for their own changed needs. Garcia Hanson (who had already been approached anyway just in case) were pleased to offer 56311 as a replacement, as was noted on one of the gen sites a few days ago. Was it on WNXX? Unfortunately, earlier today (Wednesday), Garcia contacted us, apologising profusely, saying that on giving 56311 a full audit for a long distance passenger operation, they are not confident that the loco is fit for the job, and that they do not believe that it can be made suitably ready by the weekend. So we regret that there is no 56 for the Alloa train.

Looking for a replacement at short notice, there seemed to be the choice of a 67 (actually none available), a 66 (the one we already have continuing through) or a pair of Class 37s. I think that you can guess what we have asked for! EWS have agreed (and yes, presumably 417 + 422 - haven't had that one for a while), and we are just awaiting confirmation that Network Rail have no issues with a train that now comprises 16 vehicles from Glasgow to Crewe.

Pathfinder will NOT be writing out to everyone about this change of power, on the basis that anyone who is really bothered will find out from here, from the Pathfinder website (which should be updated tomorrow) or any of the gen lines or the usual railway grapevine. We have taken a couple more bookings today, but there are a handful of seats remaining, although no doubt some 37 fans will now want to travel and will take some of those seats.

Up until today we were fully confident that a Grid would actually work this train, and we apologise for any disappointment caused.
