Re: Memories of Delays
My train to Bristol and back was on time as per usual at the weekend. Dear oh dear. Will I ever get one that actually gets delayed??
I really don't understand why many people apparantly refer to First Great Westen as First LATE Western. Where exactly are all these late trains they're supposedly running? I'd sure like to know so that I can travel on them!

I know what you mean, i haven't been on a late (well when i say late i mean longer than 5 minutes) or cancelled FGW service yet, almost all of the FGW trains i've been on have been on time or early.XPTE wrote:My train to Bristol and back was on time as per usual at the weekend. As for being late, I remember going to work one day (at 5:30am) when it was snowing. Travelling by Southeastern, the train was an hour late (apparently it had broken down at Shepherd's Well and went back to Dover Priory). The train then arrived an hour late it was an 8 Car 375, started to move and then broke down all of 50 metres at the end of the Aylesham Platform (the station i got on at). Half an hour later, the fast train showed up and connected to the back of the broken down train, then that one broke down again shortly after leaving aylesham.
It was then an hour later (about 8:30) yet another 8 Car 375 tried to powerup the already broken down train but failed. It wasn't until about 10:40 that the train finally moved and got to Canterbury East at about 11am, only just over Five hours late overall, and probably the longest Electrostar (24 carriages which is about 8 - 4 car trains!!) i've ever seen, although i don't really know what happened to it afterwards as i had to rush to work.
Something goes here??
