Makes it look like a cross between a 155 and a battering ram!

It's just a variation on Stagecoach's livery for their South-West Trains semi-fast 450s. You'd think they could have come up with something a little more interesting.

How disappointing.

Commenting Tim Shoveller, Managing Director of East Midlands Trains said:
“Our priority for the start of the franchise was to ensure a smooth transition and to get punctuality and reliability off to a good start. Now we’re confident these things have been achieved, it’s time to start focusing on the refurbishment of our trains, both inside and out.
I highly disagree with this quote as EMT still have a long way to go to keep punctuality, reliability and capacity to good levels.

But apart from that the 156 looks good...

Well there are EMT 158s at Salisbury so they are working on it... I think National Express could have a large bill from EMT, LM and XC as the outgoing franchisee has to hand over stock in good condition... Was any CT stuff ever in good condition?

Yes but I think they have overcome a few key problems since November, they can't really do much about the shortage of stock until some of the LM stuff becomes available.

Nope, although the CityLink 170's seemed to be okay, I wouldn't put it all down to CT, a lot of their stock was moved about, alot. Especially towards the end of their franchise so refurbishment was never really an option - but yes, it was shocking.

Cheers,
Ali
