GNER probably didn't have enough money to buy the new trains, and so there hopes were dashed!

I can't remember anything ever being said about such a thing, for start the track work would have to be modified to allow tilting trains, also what about the gauge differnce etc. They did used to use Eurostars though!

The only time i heard about these was on the Flying Scotsman - drivers eye view dvd, the narrator mentioned about GNER ordering tilting trains but that's about it...

That was reffering to the fact the 91s/Mk4s could be retro fitted with tilt. Which is why they have the odd body profile they do.

The IC 150 was for WCML, these are totally different units which may have been ordered by GNER for the ECML

Never trust the artists impressions. I remember seeing there idea of what the 390's would look like, horrid, but the real thing looked alot nicer.

National express are on about getting some CL.90s in for extra timtabled trains, not sure if its confirmed yet
