Hey guys,

Do any of you know when the first class 168 either rolled of the production line or entered service please?

Cheers,

Hi Alaistair

If you're talking about the 168/0s, they entered service, I think, in 1998. Sorry that's a big vague. :-?
Regards.

From what I know, the first 168s rolled out just after privatisation, and then the 168/1s rolled out around the Turbostar time.

Check Wikipedia as I'm sure they have info on it.....

NOOOOOOOOOO! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD don't go on wikipediea, as numpty's go on it, and edit it, so the 168's could be down as coming out in 1901!

The clubmans were the first new thing delivered to any TOC after privateisation(sp?) and I believe the Turbostars started rolling out c1998, so I'd say, the first clubmans were introduced mid to late 97 to early 98!

It's partially true. The moderators on Wikipedia do take action if information is edited and is grossly inaccurate. Hence the recent news stories about politicians biographical details being changed by their researchers.

For the record, therailwaycentre.com states that the Networker style 168s were introduced between 1997 & 1998.

Well, Wikipedia can be great for info, but there are people who change things for the sake of it, for example, my school's page is succesfully on 'protected' status due to the rubbish data people were putting on it.

Thanks for your help guys, I wouldn't suggest citing Wiki in any assignments but it is useful for getting to grips with a topic.
