EMT HST in Stagecoach Colours....

Post by ArrivaTrains »

Well, just about ;)

There are 3x Mk3s parked at Neville Hill, awaiting the rest of the trainset presumably :D

They look very very smart, think of a 444 :)

Looks nice enough to me, the dark blue stripe makes the carriage look at lot longer!

I knew that was coming...

If you read the thread you will have seen that there are 3 Mk 3 coaches parked outside Neville Hill's Paintshop. This suggests that an HST set is in the process of being re-livered. It will be out when it's ready - have patience!

Bless. There's always one who doesn't read through the whole post isn't there. Even if it is only three/fours posts long...

Looks quite good, and IMHO, having it alongside one in the current colours shows just how bad (dull and dirty) it is in comparison. Just hope they can keep them looking that good. Will be interesting to see what the powercars look like aswell.

I must say that it looks rather good - shouldn't look too different from the 442's in SWT livery?

Erm NO, its clearly from a camera phone as the quality is not good.
The original post was on WNXX and was posted by the photographer who confirmed it was a phone picture, and sevral people on there said there was nearly a full set now.

What's the point in putting your trains in silly new colours when you aren't even touching the interior. Cross Country and EMT are both playing this game.

A stupidly high premium may be the answer. To be fair the Voyager interiors are still in good condition AFAIK and the EMT HST sets are due a major overhaul at the start of the next timetable change.

XC's 170/1s however still have the interior they carried when introduced in about 1998? Generally held together with yellow tape with broken seats, bare metal showing on arm rests, broken interconnecting doors that wont open when closed (and require a fairly strong person to force apart as I found out yesterday when a woman was stuck between carriages and couldnt wrench the door open to get out!), a complete lack of legroom and so on.

I much prefer London Midlands approach - they're getting on with relivering the units, are retouching the interiors on them as they do them, and aren't bothering with silly intermediate stickers, just leaving the trains blank.

Is it just me, or has the Anglia/One interior of the 170s lasted much better than other operators? They always seem the best to me
