Greetings chester025!

This is my first posting in the real railway discussion area of UKTS Forums, but it's a great pleasure to be part of it. :D

I was fortunate enough yesterday to go out and see 86101 on the second weekend of the diagram. (photograph link available over in the railway photography section). As ever, she looked and sounded marvellous. I saw her arrive and stable up in front of Doncaster works.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Greetings to you too!

I had a ride on '101 from Kings Cross - Doncaster last weekend (on the Saturday) and she was in fine fettle then!

As I always end up saying, make sure you look at the cab-door handrails when you see 101 - I spent hours getting the rust and paint off those at Barrow Hill! :D

I've certainly seen the cab rails alright! They, like the rest of the loco look brilliant after a jolly good makeover. As I was saying earlier, she looked and sounded fabulous last Saturday. Nice too see her at work, thanks to guys like you who give up the time to carry out such a restoration task.

Cheers!
