Ah right, thanks for that.

I apologise i didn't do any research to keep you pleased, infuture i will be sure to do so and as far as terrorism goes, not much stopping anyone walking on board a 225 and blowing you to pieces...

hmm, not many people though.
Its not about keeping me pleased, its about you claiming something as "silly" when it clearly is not
We all have our own opinions.

well I wont be travelling on a train for a while now seeing as how that reality has been brought to light...

And as far as researching goes - I think thats taking it a bit too far, I think people are just expected to maybe think about what they are going to write before actually writing it.

ANYWAY - back on topic - Anyone have any Ideas when the NXEC liveried HST will be running on the 21st of December?

That's too far away to tell, you'll have to wait until at least the day before or actual day, when the times and train operating are entered into TRUST.

Oh I know all about those lads that died from that Cast Iron bin bomb. There is even a plaque outside the Boots store dedicated to them, although Boots has now moved to the new Golden Square development. I could get a pic of the plaque if anyone wanted?

Also on that note, apart from the bomb in the town centre, there were also IRA bombs on the old Gasworks here in Warrington, though luckily only one bomb went off, if all of them did then *yours truely* wouldnt be sitting here to give you this post. Have a look on Google Earth and you can see the placemark of the gasworks.

And bins would be fine now because they are made of plastic, thats why we have bins in the Town Centre made from a dark black plastic. The same could be done in railway stations too...

I agree with what "the railway magazine" editorial says this month. Although not as good as GNER, the NXEC livery (and name) are nowhere near as bad as that of "one," whose trains have been referred to as 'ice cream vans.' I quite like the new livery, and am glad that NX won, as opposed to stagecoach. I think I would do something unimaginable if I saw a class 91 in stupid SWT colours. (I think that the meridians on the MML look strange with an SWT style livery)

I really like the "one" livery, especially on the DVTs, i would prefer "one" livery or the "NXEC" over GNER.

Talking of EMT, I think I was a bit harsh on their meridian livery. A bit daft, but OK.

Stagecoach had that bid with Virgin and (later) GNER, if they had won we would have seen either the Virgin branding or GNER stay.....

GNER was a very repuatable, strong brang, I would of liked to of thought it would have been kept, but saying that Virgin love making a big who-harr about things they own so maybe it would be Virgin East Coast.

At the end of the day guys, it's not what the train looks like it's how well it's operated that matters.

I agree, im not sure if GNER offered their WiFi free (I went on a NXEC train today) but there is little difference at the moment.

I managed to go to York and the NRM today, ill upload the pics later but those 43s are great, stay tuned as they include some NXEC ones at Doncaster.

No no no. The paint (or vinyl) is the only thing that matters. There might not be any seats, and the floor may be nothing but discarded apple cores, but a snazzy paint job on the outside makes it all OK.

Have they got rid of the Mallard and Flying Scotsman branding GNER had on there services

And do they still have the 1000 train from King's X to Edinburgh

Have they keeped the names given by GNER like Tam the Gunner

(Sorry if I'm asking a lot of Questions)

in a word No, as the white stripes cover the names.

With the exception of Deltic 50, clearly.

Travelled back to London from York today with NeX.

Their customer service is . and NeX are already living up to what I expected of them.

I know it is early days, but I am hardly impressed with them so far.
