Now the people who moan about FGW at the moment will realise what a bad train REALLY is! They wanted new trains; well be carefull what you wish for in future!
We already get 143s :)

Have you seen the condition of the local Dogbox's - They need work urgently.

So guess what they've sending for refurb first - the faily decent TPX 158s!

From what I've heard the Ex. TPX 158's are in a terrible state, although not being from the area I can't be sure.

They are a lot better then some of the Native ones :)

If the Exmoor Explorer 158 is still about - that has a tatty Central interior

That may be true of some of the privatised companies, but certainly not all of them.

I cite Chiltern and GNER as two shining examples in this respect. In fact, I think it's a great shame GNER are losing their franchise...but that's a debate for another thread! :wink:

I thought the reason 142s weren't running on the cornish lines was because they weren't suitable for the tight corners on the Newquay line, yet FGW decides that they should run there?????

Just in case anyone is interested, running as 5Z42 on Sunday (23rd) departing Newton Heath (approx 1230, can't remember exactly) and routed via Manchester Victoria, Warrington Bank Quay, Chester (around 1430ish), Wrexham, Shrewsbury, Hereford, Severn Tunnel, Bristol TM, Taunton and to Exeter arriving approx 1900ish.

142064 has replaced 142004, as 142004 is due a B-Exam so the service will now be 142001+142064
