I believe the incident was real and but the video was a re-creation of it

Not sure why the youtuber has stated the footage is from CCTV as it definitely isn't..

we was shown that video during me signaller training course, spent a whole day on saftey critical communications!! :o but its not hard to see why, all to easy to miss hear something and end up in a potentioaly fatal situation.

They show that one on the PTS course as well.Also got shown it in the induction by Network Rail when i was doing asbestos removal on the Eastern Range at Kings Cross last year.

that was one seriously narrow escape. So who was to blame then? the signalman ?

Thats why your supposed to repeat all telephone messages back until you get it right :argue: I presume every one involved was at fault.As the prison governor says in the Film" cool hand luke" " What we have here is a failure to communicate" or something to that effect

As above,

All three, the signaller and the driver because they didn't reach a clear understanding and the MOM because he didn't check with the signaller what was going on. You could see that the MOM was uneasy as he kept looking back.

They were very lucky that other Virgin driver was on the ball.
