Actually I don't know if I should admit this but I have a slide of 45132 on an up express passing Millbrook near Bedford when I was a Relief Signalman on the Midland Mainline in the 1970's - dikkidee :oops:

Most of it is only said in jest. As Arabiandisco says, those who shout abuse at heaps of metal really aren't worth bothering about. I don't like MTUs, but I feel no need to go around every single video of them on YouTube and comment that 'they suck'. I love reminding MTU haters that MTU = Maybach (via a merger with Mercedes) or by telling them that the engine is a modified Zeppelin engine (again its possible but probably a myth)
Look at it this way.
Most people hated HST's when they first came out, look at them now.
MTU's well we will learn to live with them, as we did when HST's first arrived.
