Atomic Systems

Hi Guys.

Well today was a special day, as we steamed Sir Berkeley and she made her first moves under her own power. Not only that, but I had earlier lit up Matthew Murry for a steam test. This gave us the chance to have two Manning Wardle Locomotives in steam together for the first time in 40 years, twice my age!

Coming up I have my fireing exam a week on Sunday. I passed my rules on Saturday.

The weekend of the 14th and 5th of April sees the opening of the engiene house, the 14th is a private do, but the 15th is for the public. THis day should be the first chance to see both Manning Wardles on passenger trains together.

The following weekend on the 21st and 22nd sees the railway gala, with 4 steam locos and possibly some diesels running.

Very nice indeed i have to say. Just out of intrest though does that new boiler have the orignal style Salter saftey valves on or have you hidden more modern ones inside the shiny thing.
Not been to the middleton for a long time will have to make a visit sometime.

I confess im not sure about the valves, I havnt been under that shiny looking thing! I will take a look when im down there tomorrow. Were having a big shunt and I think im shunter!

Dont worry i was only intrested because i know mr health and safety isnt too keen on them because you can alter the setting quite easily. In fact thier are many stories from ye good olde days of people hanging teapots and things on them to get a bit more out of thier loco only for it to result in the inevitable explosion.
