Help identifying coach sort.

Hi guys.

Can someone please tell me what type of Mk1 coach this is as seen in the photo. Someone mentioned it my have been a coach converted for use as an ambulence, but im sketical about this but in all honesty know nothing about coaching stock. Also can anyone tell me what type of unit is also in the picture.

The coach looks to me like a mk1 CK (Corridor Composite). The unit is either a 4CEP or a 4BEP. I don't know which beacuse the original numbering scheme is a mystery to me!

Yes, that looks like the Corridor side of a Corridor Composite (CK). There are 3 first class compartments at that end, the small window is opposite the corridor leading to the door on the other side, then further back there are 4 standard compartments. A toilet is provided at each end, inside the doors, and both are the full width of the compartments, so very spacious. The next coach along looks like a CK aswell, although it could a corridor brake.

They are probably referring to the ambulance window - some CKs were fitted with a special window that could just be popped out in case of emergency.
