Whoa...yeah, that definately IS toast....
So remember....always wear a hi-vis jacket.
BTW....what was with the second Ped running behind...I mean, I know they've had their problems with age and that...but surely there's enough power in one ped to kill an Espacé?

The footage was certainly startling - having watched it in slow motion on our digital service the front buffer beam of the loco reaches beyond the centreline of the car before the car starts to move. From my engineering background than means certain death for the driver and serious injuries at the very least for the front seat passenger. That more interesting thing was the amount of ballast flying around - any passing train in the other direction would surely have lost windows as a result ????
As expected - a potentially offensive manner of presenting but did we really expect anything else. As mentioned earlier - I prefer the Australian advert.
Has it achieved anything - well it will be interesting to see how many complaints the broadcasting standards people get.......
My last words on the subject (unless I have to come back in a moderator capacity - please don't make that happen).
Kindest regards
John

Top Gear gets hundreds upon thousands of complaints every week about whatever is the latest thing to cause outrage. The programme should carry a warning before it is shown that it is intended for people with a sense of humour.
If the feature had been filmed and presented in a deadly serious and sombre manner then the intended audience would have simply switched off.
RE: the programme itself is usually repeated sometime during the week so have a look on the Radio Times website. If you have NTL/Virgin Media then it's available anytime with the video on demand service.

George Stephenson, 1824.The rage for railroads is so great that many will be laid in parts where they will not pay.
