Just got word that FM Rail has gone into voluntary administration as of this week so if anyone is thinking of booking on a railtour that they are a party to id hold fire as im not sure how this
affects the partnership between Hertfordshire railtours and FM Rail

That’s a great shame, especially as they offer a service that can provide additional capacity to most regional TOC's. They have/had a nice fleet of locos too.

Pathfinder's you mean.

Yes FM rail have i think shot them selves in the foot cancelling nearly all its steam charter's a while ago.

Gladly most the loco's are privately owned with a handful of loco being just there's.

No, like i said, i mean Hertfordshire Railtours as FM Rail have nothing to do with Pathfinder Tours

Great Locomotives, should be safe enough if they can float the company for a while

There's something in the offing so I'm told, but it's not the end of FM, but maybe as we know it.

Do you know if 47703 is privately owned? (It's my fave - I'd hate to see it go).

Cheers

47701 is privately owned, and for sale. I can't find anything about 47703 to suggest it's not owned by fragonwagon.

as iv said on several other forums..
if the head men at FM Rail had any sense they would not have had the locomotives in its own name.

the locomotives should have been the property of a holding group ie. FM Rail Holding ltd..

however acording to http://www.wnxx.com the operating license for fm rail has been transfered to Victa Railfreight.. FMM Rails partner in its recent railfreight exploits and its partner in VFM Railfreight...

FM rail took control of Pathfinder i have the news letters off pathfinder.

Pathfinders booking office remains unchanged but the running of the tours are FM rail.

In the one Pathfinder brouchure it say's Pathfinders are proud to announce the successful take over. FM rail are now Custodians of Hertfordshire, Merlin and Pathfinder Tours limited.

im pretty sure that fm rail WERE gonna buy inot pathfinder in partnership with riviera trains.. but they backed out last minute which left riviera trains the sole wner.

FM Rail (Fragonset Merlin) own hertfordshire railtours.. and ICMM which they market under hertforshire.

They do NOT have any stake in Pathfinder...

yes salopiangrowler it sounds like your corrospondance is out of date. Besides the original point was dont book on Hertfordshire railtours as they would be the most affected, if they had a stake in pathfinders which they havent it wouldnt affect them in the same way. The FM Rail locomotives wont be affected according to someone at the top of the pile if they are to be trusted!!

LOL, yes i believe the correspondance was sent out during my wait for tickets for a train that never ran because of FM rails previous farce as the train was supposed to be operated by an FM rail crew. so what i got and what i believed was actually printed probably minutes or hours before the decision for FM to back out.

What do Vista do, im a bit down on rail gossip this last 3 weeks. Assuming vista are those who trialed Coal trains using 3 31's. and if sucessful the service is to be 2 - 3 times a week from hat i can rememeber, i think they'd have enough loco's.

I think 45112 will be going home pretty soon. 37255 will probably stay on the GCR.

Victa (not Vista ;-) ) are a partner of FM Rail and its them who FM Rail is operating the Hams Hall to Mossend freight in partnership with. The coal trial was operated by FM Rail but was not successful
