What does the name c2c mean?

I am unsure about it. Does it mean captial2coast (c2c)?

According to National Express Group, it officially means nothing now, although it originally meant capital2coast. Same as WAGN was originally West Anglia Great Northern, but became just WAGN.

There's a whole load of c words on the waiting room (up platform) at upminster, which reads like a load of nonsense like capital2coast2city2customers2commitment2cheese2celery2clam2cockroach2...

It may not last much longer, NatEx are rumoured to be rebranding their trains as NX rail with a livery based on.... ONE

I thought it meant something like City to City.
