Actually when I worked as a signalman at stourbridge jcn I used to wait until I could get a clear run all the way from the kingswinford branch onto the main & on towards blakedown before letting the freights roll,that way I could get a 56 going past the box at about 55mph & still on full power with about 30 empty steel wagons. The noise was awesome & used to rattle all the windows in the box as well as set off car alarms in the station car park & frighten the hell outta the people on the station.
