It was probably done in a hurry - management telling him what he could and could say, and he had to word this quickly for the press. If he was part of an external PR company, he may word this badly simply because he doesn't really know the trains well.

You know you're a pilot when you drive off a cliff, and your last words are "Gear up!"

We were having a good laugh about this at work the other day.
Imagine the headline "Nuclear plant produced electricity and didn't blow up".
Substrapline:
"Plant operators apologise for fulfilling safety duties and not making headlines - more Simpson videos on order".
BTW, remember the nuclear flask train video, anyone been able to find the American version online (OK, I know they like bigger, better, faster). They crashed an F15 (?), fully fuelled at maximum speed on a sled into a simalcrum of a nuclear reactor. The result.... well they never found the F-15 and my mate Dave who is a plaster reckoned he could "make-good" the reactor pressure vessel for about £80!
And if anyone thinks at this point I'm trying to be pro-nuclear (I may be or not) rather than having a snipe at the tabloid (or other) press I seriously think we should go back to coal, regenerate Yorkshire, and loads of class 20s and 58s on Merry-go-rounds. Yeah. The world may get a little warm, but it beats seeing 185s at Donny!

Apologies for going Off-Topic: You want to import diesel just to move coal to power stations?! New-build Class 92/1s at least, please - get a nice bit of circularity going*...sleepie wrote:I seriously think we should go back to coal, regenerate Yorkshire, and loads of class 20s and 58s on Merry-go-rounds. Back on topic: It's happened before, it might be a design problem with the 365s. Fortunately it is the 365s, at least they don't have inter-unit gangways. In relative terms, the 365s are 'new' - being delivered at the dawn of privatisation.
'Train Safety System Works Correctly' - perhaps this should be suggested to Messrs Harris N, & Co., for their next contribution to paper recycling?!
* Circularity - or the trains feeding the power station to power the trains to feed the power station to power the trains to feed the power station ad infinitum...

I have seen that, its staggering! If you do find a copy watch the wingips as they overlap the concrete block...the rest of the plane just vanishes while the tips miss, get neatly sliced off and glide down to earth!!sleepie wrote:BTW, remember the nuclear flask train video, anyone been able to find the American version online (OK, I know they like bigger, better, faster).
