What would they do?

Post by popol »

Hi

Considering making an activity for TS, I was wondering what Central Trains would do if the Peterbourough to Ely line was shut because of engineering works or an incident. Would they terminate the trains at Peterborough and then transfer the passengers in coaches, divert the trains by Hitchin and Cambridge, or stop the train in Hitchin or Stevenage an transfer the passengers in another train, either a First Capital Connect or a special Central train?

Thank you for your help

this has happened before. central run replacement coaches between peterborough and ely or cambridge. it happened when (i think) a central 170 hit a tractor on the line a gud few months back.

Expect it would be rail replacement buses from Peterborough to Ely.

Dont think there's any alternative route between Peterborough and Ely myself that's the Far East of England for you.
