AP Rail has already sourced a number of surplus Mk3a sleeper coaches, with plans to convert more from stored ex-West Coast stock. Haulage will come in the form of new Alstom Prima locomotives, provisionally dubbed Class 67/1.
"While it is not known precisely when AP Rail will start service, a new pool (APRL - AP Rail Locomotives) has already been created. Berths and seats will be priced to attract people to the overnight services, with the following routes already agreed:
* Penzance - Edinburgh
* London - Glasgow (via ECML)
* Cambridge - Fort William
* Holyhead - Dover
* Bournemouth - Inverness
The first locomotives are already under construction, with delivery anticipated for June. AP Rail are aiming for a 31 June test run with 67101 and 67102."
What do you think, not heard anything about it to be honest.
