i think so not all in service though and they are having 170's from SWT to run the Manchester - Hull service's due to the lighter axle load on a 170 aparrently 185's axle load's to much for the station area at Hull.

It also has something to do with 170's being explicitly banned from the west transpennine routes

Oh and Northern's new 158s are coming from FGW - the ones in Central colours

Eh? IIRC, Class 170s are cleared Manchester-Liverpool - both via the CLC and Rainhill. The only TPE routes not cleared in the Manchester area is Piccadilly to MIA and the lines towards Preston. If you mean the north Trans-Pennine routes (Standedge and Calder Valley lines), then very true, however no-one has so far 'needed' to operate a 170 that way.

And so the reshuffle goes on, and on, and on...

170's are cleared Manchester Ox' Road - Nottingham via Sheffield.

There's also a service to Oxford Road from Cambridge with a 170 which also cover's part the Transpennine route from Shefield to manchester.

Wether this is part of the southern transpennine i dont know.

Hope Valley - that's fairly common knowledge, and since it's east (south-east, for the pedantic), when enotayokel said west, I didn't mention it.

Windermere and barrow are what the 158's are doing when transpennine get them so they can release the 175's for Arriva.
