John, i'm ok yes, however I had a slight adrenalin rush for a few moments while i grasped the situation.

Thanks for your concern.
whitemoor wrote:its sickining, did you get a description of these b******s?...
Not much, but one of them looked about 10/11 yrs old. :x

I called the BTP straight away, while the driver was informing York Box, they sent some officers out while I was still on the phone to the control room, which is good.
BR7MT wrote:Are they deliberately targeting the new trains? Or is it any train passing their 'patch'?
Any train passing thru the area

Network Rail closed the line thru the area for a short time yesterday after I think, 5 trains were bricked in less than 1 hour. NR decided not to let anymore trains pass till the BTP had had a look around for these thugs.

Today, after mine, the train that passed me on the opposite line was done, as i wrote above. Then the train behind me, was also hit. Thankfully no staff injuries today....

Don't we all.
Where are the youths getting hold of so many bricks anyway? Seems to me that if security round building sites was tightened these accidents might become more infrequent... :-?

I think quite a few of their parents may be in the building trade or loose ones found down allyways or even vandalism of walls etc to supply their crimes

just wonder how long it will be before us law abiding young people will be stopped and questioned by the BTP for being lineside, trying to photo trains, the actions on the small minority having an effect on the majority, and more sterotyping will come into play. Some train drivers will see a group of young people by the lineside and instantly think "they are up to no good"........

rant over

why ROFL etc? These parents who usually don't care about their childs crimes and threatening the coppers etc aren't they usually the ones who complain when trains aren't running etc due to the vandalism commited by their child. Also with these BTP questionings my cousin who is a lawabiding citizen was taking a picture of london vic departures board (dunno why) but they searched him etc for taking that picture thinking he was a terrorist. My uncle who is an ex BTP guy even said that this SHOULD NOT have been done. What the heck is society coming to these days??

The chances of any of the parents be builders is probably less than sod all.

And what the hell is this all about ? How is linked to the current discussion in anyway ?

Well I was able to understand it, even if the grammar wasn't perfect
And I agree that it's absolubtely stupid for station staff to waste time persecuting innocent photographers when the real trouble-makers are these young vandals. They really need to sort out their priorities. :x

You know that 14-28 year olds are currently targeted by BTP regarding knife carrying and are likely to be stop searched?
So mayby this is why he was stopped ?

I wouldn't have thought that would have been it, he does look a bit like a terrorist on his passport picture but how on earth can that be transfered to real life. (Anyway i think we should get back to the bricking issue).

Whats looking like a terrorist on your passport got to do with being in the age group which research has shown is statistically more likely to be carrying a knife ?

Did he get a stop and search form ? What power was used to stop him, (it will say on the form)
If he didn't get a form, or was not offered one then he was certainly not 'questioned', they might have had words with him which is not really the same thing.
We can go back to bricking if you like, but you did bring up your cousin as if it was connected somehow or was already part of the discussion.

Will it take a serious train crash with huge loss of life before this is taken seriously?

I don't care if the brats are young kids they should be punished harshly and cruelly.

This is attemtped murder in my book and to be honest I wouldn't object to these kids being given concrete boots and a trip to the seaside if you know what I mean!

Make an example of every one, jail them in an adult prison, fine their parents, post pictures of them with details of their crimes and punishments throughout schools, stations, public areas, etc.

Eventually the message will get through - "TRY ANYTHING LIKE THIS AND YOUR LIFE IS OVER!!!!"

Yep, that's the way to do things. Unfortunately, the government will probably tell you it breaches their human rights.
