well...

If you start from Paddington station, and follow the GWML along for around 4 road over-bridges, just before the 5th, there is a train (possibly HeX?)- which appears to have no track west of it. :-? :P

There's a Corus 60 near Hull Docks, an EWS 37 behind Perth station and loads of stuff around the Teeside docks.

I've spotted a 37 west of Old Oak Common and loads of EWS 66's.

viperskil - Don't talk rubbish. The train is mostly Mark III vehicles - the panels above the toilets/vestibules make this clear - but the images are split (through the last vehicle I presume). The Power Car is an HST Class 43 (although angle and resolution prevent it's number from being 'copped'!). The last vehicle is first-half Mk3, possibly rear-half Mk2 - presumably one of the old Mk2 hauled sets caught at the right time - or the image has been photoshopped by the GoogleEarth staff to look complete enough.

There's another train just west of Reading, which appears to have no power car at the front! The original post shows the HST at Pangbourne.

There's even more of an oddity in this one at Old Oak Common

It looks like the same train has been snapped twice!
At least you can see the join, this time!

Round Carnforth there is a container train passing through. The train can also be seen a few minutes down the line at Morecambe South Junction!

The old Prince of Wales Colliery near Knottingley has a contender for a train snapped 3 times! Either that or there was some serious congestion that day! There's a surprising number of trains in the Knottingley/Castleford district, as well was some engineering going on at the Worth Valley by the looks of things, between Damens and Oakworth. I'm sure someone would be able date the photo from that! :D
