Well, every sunday in January Firdt Great Western have 4 trains a day from Paddington to the South West calling at Paddington, Reading, Westbury, Castle Cary, Yeovil Junction, and then most stations to Exeter St. Davids.
SWT only going as far as YVJ.
Would make an interesting detour. I will get timings for those who would like it.

Yea, HST's always come this way when the GWML is out of action, seems quite normal after seeing it a few times.
I live near whimple station, and in reply to kizzer's post, they stop only the front 3 coaches alongside the platform, nothing unusual, we very frequently have 6 car 159 pairs serve here, not a problem, except for non-locals, who suddenly get an announcement telling them they need to get to the front of the train sharpish!, especially bad if you're at the wrong end of an HST
lol
Very much looking foreward to the 23rd of march btw, West country 34067 and Standard class 4 76079 are doubleheading a railtour that passes whimple in the Exeter-Yeovil direction, somthing that hasn't happened in a long long time, the only problem now is deciding whether to go and see the pair attacking the steep gradient (1 in 37?) from Exeter st davids to Exeter central, or to watch them at speed somewhere between broadclyst and whimple, decisions decisions..
