It probably depends on where you break down, but on a motorway I'd always get out of the car, mainly due to lorries seemingly being fairly poor at lane discipline! In a built-up area I may be a little more wary, but then the cars wouldn't be at such a speed there.

Boyracer's and big wig's going home from work and off duty police officer's.

Seriously there's more accidents on a 30 - 40 mph road than a motorway yet there's more deaths on a motorway.
